Long-Term Care
Long-term care includes medical and non-medical care to people who have a chronic illness or disability. Generally, Medicare does not pay for most long-term care. Medicare pays only for medically necessary skilled nursing facility or home health care and you must meet certain conditions to be eligible for this type of care. Medicare does not pay for "custodial care" in a Nursing Home. Custodial care is usually when you require assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s).
